April 28, 2011 (VIRGINIA BEACH, VA)—The United States Indoor Sports Association (USIndoor) announced today the addition of Lil Sluggers to its fleet of corporate members targeting the indoor sports facility market. The Lil Sluggers program introduces baseball to children ages 2-5, teaching them important skills, such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base-running, using developmentally appropriate equipment and games in an engaging, exciting, and positive environment.
Says Sheila Whitlow, Lil Sluggers Vice President and a former arena operator herself, “Most of all, the Lil Sluggers program is fun!”
Lil Sluggers offers royalty-free licensing for sports facility operators, who want to increase profits and expand their customer base. The program includes lesson plans and operations guidance to get the program started in a matter of weeks. The program also provides numerous revenue streams to maximize investment, including classes, camps, leagues and birthday parties.
Founded in 2004, Lil Sluggers has taught baseball to thousands of kids. With 20 operators and growing, it is the only national program of its kind. Sheila continues, “Participants will definitely be a ‘step ahead’ when it’s time to begin organized league play, and parents will love the progress they see so much they’ll come back for more!”
