The Lil Sluggers program is licensed to sports facilities seeking to increase profits and develop a new customer base through baseball. The program is royalty free and includes a full curriculum, a marketing program and operations guidance to get the program started in a matter of weeks! Revenue streams include classes, camps, leagues and birthday parties.
Founded in 2004 by sports facility operators K.C. and Sheila Whitlow, the Lil Sluggers program introduces children, ages 2-5, to baseball and is specially suited to keeping facilities active during non-peak hours and seasons. Over 1,000 children participated in the program during its first two years, alone, and the program has since taken off. Today, there are currently 32 Lil Sluggers operators across the United States, with many customers returning session after session and taking part in other facility programs, as well.
About the Program: Lil Sluggers classes meet weekly and develop important baseball skills, such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Developmentally appropriate equipment and activities are used to teach children the game of baseball in an enjoyable, exciting, and positive environment. Classes have a maximum of six Lil Sluggers per coach, so each child receives a lot of individual attention and encouragement. Each age group has its own set of games, activities and objectives that are age appropriate and most of all, FUN! The curriculum progresses from baseball basics to prepations for t-ball and little league by adding more challenges and complexity as kids advance.
