NISL Announces 2008 ScheduleThe National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) announced its regular-season schedule for the 2008-09 season. Each NISL team will play an 18-game schedule (nine home/nine away) for a total of 45 regular-season contests. The vast majority of the League's 2008-09 games are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The regular season runs for 20 weeks, commencing on Saturday, November 15, with a pair of contests and concluding on Saturday, March 29.
The NISL consists of five members, including the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, and Philadelphia KiXX (all of the former MISL) and the Massachusetts Twisters and Rockford (Illinois) Rampage (of the former AISL.)
The NISL 2009 playoff format will feature the three NISL clubs with the highest regular-season win-loss percentage at the end of the regular season. The Semifinal Round, scheduled for the first week of April, will be a two-match, home-and-home series between the second and third-place teams, with a "Golden Goal" mini-match tiebreaker, if necessary. The winner of the Semifinals will square-off versus the regular season champion in a one-game Championship Final that will be played the second week of April. The Championship Game will be played at the home field of the regular season champion.
