Lilavois Named Cougar's Head Coach
(STOCKTON, CALIF., JANUARY 27, 2007) The California Cougars has named
veteran forward Bernie Lilavois interim head coach, replacing Troy Dayak,
effective immediately. Dayak had led the Cougars since the team's inaugural
2005 season. A Tracy, Calif., native and local soccer hero, Dayak was a
member of a 1992 Olympic soccer team that played in Barcelona, Spain, and a
two-time MLS champion with the San Jose Earthquake in 2001 and 2003.
Lilavois, a 13-year veteran, was one of the first players Dayak brought onto
the Cougars first roster.
Located in Stockton, California, the California Cougars play its home games
at the Stockton Area, which opened in December, 2005. For additional
