VERSUS To Deliver MISL Game of the Week
The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and VERSUS, the network that celebrates real competition in all its forms, have announced a partnership to deliver a nationally televised game of the week. The competitive action of the preeminent professional indoor soccer league in North America begins on VERSUS Saturday, March 24 at 5 p.m. ET with a match-up between Baltimore and Philadelphia. The schedule includes two regular season games, an MISL Championship Series Semifinal game on April 14, and the MISL Championship Series Final on April 21. Additionally, the MISL will produce its first-ever live magazine show on April 7, designed to preview the 2007 MISL Championship Series.
Stated MISL Commissioner Steve Ryan, "National television is decidedly essential to the future growth of the MISL. An authentic media partnership with VERSUS vastly increases the exposure and potential reach of our made-for-television professional sport, providing the League with the ability to generate increased knowledge of the MISL, the opportunity for the general sports fan to preview the Major Indoor Soccer League experience, and the platform for the League to begin positioning marquee MISL players as stars on a national landscape."
Marc Fein, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for VERSUS added, "The weekly telecasts of MISL are a great addition to the portfolio of our marquee competitive sports content. We are excited to partner with the MISL as we see the potential growth for the League, and we look forward to the partnership bringing new viewers to the network."
