Online Registration Opens for USIndoor's National Conference and Trade Show

Washington, DC (April 11, 2007) – The United States Indoor Soccer Association (USIndoor) announced today a new certification program for indoor soccer and multi-sport facility operators beginning this June. Individuals who successfully complete the program's course and exam will receive the designation, "Certified Arena Operator" (CAO).

The CAO Program is designed for senior level managers and operators having at least some experience in sports facility management. The first CAO class takes place June 13-14, 2007, in Denver, Colorado, in conjunction with USIndoor's Seventh Annual Facility Operators Conference & Tradeshow. An educational teleseminar series complements the Program.

The Program's mission is to (1) improve arena operators' day-to-day performance, (2) help raise the stature of USIndoor members and the indoor soccer industry and (3) recognize those who demonstrate a fundamental level of management expertise, aiding employers in hiring and enhancing the careers of those who earn the credential. Program curriculum includes human resources, financial management, legal considerations, marketing, advertising and public relations, league operations, customer service, concessions, retailing, ancillary program development, insurance, utility management, emergency systems, and sponsorship sales, along with the latest management trends, hot topics and business theories.

Directing the CAO Program is Jim Cline, Founder and Principal of The Goals Group (Columbus, Ohio) and a member of USIndoor's team of consultants since 2001. Outside of his activity within USIndoor, Jim sits on the boards of several youth soccer associations, is a regular speaker for Athletic Business, and consults with a variety of indoor equipment manufacturers and vendors, as well as development groups, non-profit organizations, and municipal parks and recreation departments across the US and abroad. Over a 20-plus year career in sports and real estate, Jim has designed and built facilities from the ground up, managed them, and run over 50 youth soccer tournaments.
