KiXX Battle Ignition for MISL Title
(Apr. 21, 2007, 4:00pm ET) - The Philadelphia KiXX are headed to Detroit to play for the MISL Championship after defeating the Chicago Storm last Saturday in Game Two of the semifinal series, 10-6. In the Golden Goal tiebreaker, John Barry Nusum won the series for Philadelphia, 9:32 into the sudden death frame to send the KiXX to their first finals appearance since winning the MISL Championship in 2002. The club will face the expansion Detroit Ignition, which holds home field advantage in the one-game final at the Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth, MI. The Ignition reached the Championship by rallying last Sunday to beat the Milwaukee Wave 10-8 in Game Two of their semifinal series, then taking the tiebreaker 2-0 on Novi Marojevic’s Golden Goal 1:20 into the extra session.
The Championship game will be televised live on Versus and webcast at www.wmssfm.com, with John Wilsbach calling the play-by-play.
