MISL’S CHICAGO STORM AND AISL’S ROCKFORD RAMPAGE ANNOUNCE TWO GAME SERIES FEB 5 & 9 |
The Rockford Rampage, who currently lead the AISL with a record of 8-0, will face the MISL’s Chicago Storm in a home and home series starting on February 5th.
The Storm, currently tied for third in the MISL standings, will host the Rampage on Tuesday, February 5th at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, IL. The game will kick off at 10AM to accommodate the Storm’s annual School Day matinee game. The Rampage will host the return leg at the Victory Sports Arena in Loves Park, IL on Saturday, February 9th at 7:30PM.
This will be the second time the two clubs have met. Last February, the two teams tangled in a School Day game, with the Storm coming out on top 21-10.
“This is very important to both the Rampage and the Storm,” said Oscar Albuquerque, Rampage President. “We’re having a very strong season, and it will be a good test for us to play against one of the MISL’s top teams.”
“It will be good to showcase the talent we have,” said Rampage coach Jeff Kraft. “We have a couple people who played in the MISL, so some of the guys know what it takes. I hope we put on a good show for the kids, because it’s all about the fans.”
“It’s an important game because some of the players they have are local here,” Storm head coach Steve Morris said of Rockford. “It’s an opportunity for them to play at a different level against another professional league. As far as us, we have a camp program there, and Rockford is an important and viable market for viewers. We certainly want to showcase ourselves in that market.”
2007-08 AISL leading scorer Novi Marojevic played from 2004-06 with the Storm, and Albuquerque and Kraft served as assistant coaches for the Storm in their first season of 2004-05.
Tickets for the Rockford leg of the “home and home” are $25.00 (VIP seats), $10.00 (adults), and $7.00 (youth), and are available through the team office at (847) 630-9034 and at the Victory Sports Complex box office the night of the game.
