USIndoor Referee Program Enters 11th Season

Since 1999, the United States Indoor Soccer Association has certified well over 2,000 indoor referees across North American, including in almost every state in the US, Mexico and Canada.  Over the years, USIndoor has helped bring unity to the game and higher standards, but mainly it has enabled indoor soccer facilities to develop and continually upgrade their own referee programs.

It’s the ability to develop values of loyalty, accountability and confidence that operators crave and which customers appreciate, which can only arise from the sort of program USIndoor offers.  There’s no other service of its kind.  Taking control of its own program, a facility or locality not only becomes less dependent on outsiders, but it truly takes “ownership” in the quality of customer service it provides.  Consequently, the core value of USIndoor’s Referee Certification Program squarely rests on the referee as a customer service provider.

A critical feature of the Program is the appointment of a local instructor, who, after the initial referee clinic provided by USIndoor, functions both on behalf of the locality and USIndoor for future services.  Among other things, USIndoor continues to work with each instructor, who is usually an existing facility employee, on teaching methods, rule changes, minimum standards, ongoing referee communications, and general program improvements and administration.

Additional Program benefits include four levels of badges—referee, state, national and professional—liability and medical insurance, a private online indoor referee forum, and a copy of the Official Rules.  Cost is $60 for new certifications and $45 for most re-certifications.  There’s no charge for travel surrounding the initial clinic, subject to minimum registration requirements and a deposit.
