MISL PLAYOFFS:
Chicago Storm Post-Season Begins April 15
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 28, 2006) – It only took
two years to accomplish, but its official: The Chicago Storm is
in the post-season for the first time in franchise history. On Sunday,
April 2, the Storm clinched the fourth and final spot in the MISL
Championships. The Storm has its first playoff semi-final game at
home on Saturday, April 15th, at 6 pm at the UIC Pavilion. The second
of the two-game series will be in St. Louis on the 22nd at 7:05
pm. Tickets are on sale now.
The
“home-and-home” series matches the No. 4 seed, Chicago Storm, versus
the No. 1 seed, St. Louis Steamers. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Blast
and Milwaukee Wave are still jockeying for the No. 2 and 3 seeds.
The higher seed holds the right to choose home field for either
Game One or Game Two. Should the semifinalists split their two games;
the series winner will be determined by a “Golden-Goal” session
(similar to “sudden-death”) immediately following Game Two.
The
Championship Series Finals pit the winners of the Semifinal Round
in a best-of-three series to be played from April 28-30 through
May 5-7. The higher seed holds home-field advantage for Games One
and Three, while the lower seed holds home-field advantage for Game
Two.
